The Spire, located between the Town Hall and Cranmer Square, sits on the edge of Christchurch's 28-metre height zone. Properties to the north of Kilmore Street are restricted to 17 metres, or five storeys.
The 96-room Wyndham Gardens hotel provides the base for the building, with the black four level façade of the Spire Apartments appearing to hover above that as a separate architectural element.
Four penthouse apartments each have a large master bedroom suite and a large open-plan living space, and two large terraces. A series of one-bedroom studio apartments and dual-key two-bedroom apartments are also available. The dual-key apartments offer a great opportunity for investors and owner-occupiers.
The internal plan of the apartments has been carefully considered to maximize the outlook. All have balconies. Two levels of car parking are provided on site at the rear of the building, and there is also a public use café on the ground floor.
