Set on a suburban tree-lined street, this house is designed to fit with the character and scale of its neighbourhood, yet have a unique identity.
The form matches the footprint and scale of an existing house on the site, and adopts the traditional vernacular form of the gable. The street façade is a perforated corten screen with a pattern that reflects the street trees, providing privacy and filtered light to interior. At night the corten screen is illuminated, creating a welcoming presence, and the windows behind provide a veiled sense of occupation to passersby.
